Anvisa warns of counterfeiting of Brazilian medicines abroad

The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) reported on Wednesday (14) that it received from the Pharmaceutical Laboratory of the State of Pernambuco (Lafepe) a statement about the improper use abroad of the company’s trademark on the packaging of two medicines. “In addition to not being manufactured by Lafepe, these drugs are not registered with Anvisa, as it is an unequivocal case of counterfeiting,” said the regulatory agency.

According to Anvisa, there is no evidence of commercialization of these counterfeit products in Brazil. The regulatory agency did not say what type of treatment the drugs were used for.
The report was released to alert the population and distributors of medicines about counterfeiting. If the remedies are found, Anvisa asks the consumer to contact them to file a complaint with the General Management of Sanitary Inspection and Inspection for the adoption of the appropriate measures.
